The history of Helvar is also the history of saving energy. We have developed important energy saving solutions for the luminaire industry.
For the good of the environment
Lighting is the single biggest energy user in offices. Helvar ’s advanced solutions can achieve up to 80%energy savings compared to traditional solutions. As the temperature of a luminaire drops when it is dimmed, air-conditioning consumes less energy. This can be exploited with lighting control and detectors that ensure that there is a correct amount of light -and only where there are users.
We develop products and services that help people save energy. Accordingly, we improve our own production methods in order to make them more environmentally friendly. We regularly evaluate the products and production methods of our suppliers and subcontractors -also from an environmental perspective. What ’s more, we co-operate closely and openly with authorities as well as customers in environmental matters.
Environmental Product Information
Helvar Environmental Product Information (EPI) leaflet provides information on various environmental aspects of Helvar products. Helvar as a company is briefly introduced. The leaflet includes the environmental policy of Helvar. Applicable EU legislation is handled, including most importantly the RoHS, WEEE and EuP directives. Environmental issues of production, packaging and material content are covered. Customers and end users can benefit from information on the possibilities to save energy in lighting. Information on the structure and end-of-life treatment of products is provided in order for the customers to create suitable waste disposal programs and to enable correct disposal of products. Thus disposal facilities may efficiently recover materials from Helvar products.
