Patient room
A hospital patient room with 2 beds and toilet. A control point is required at the entrance door as well as local control panels adjacent to each bed to allow individual control of the bed head lighting. Scene setting shall be provided to ensure that the correct light level can be selected depending on the requirements of the medical staff and patient. For energy saving, daylight harvesting is required in the main room. The toilet lighting is required to be automatically controlled by detecting occupancy. For the purposes of central control and monitoring, patient rooms should form part of a hospital wide control system.
Solution
Lighting is provided by DALI dimmable linear T5 at the bed heads. DALI dimmable T5 ceiling modules are used for general lighting. The toilet luminaire is non dimming. A master control button panel is provided at the entry door to give pre-set scene override control of the whole room. Local button panels are also provided adjacent to the beds to allow the patient to adjust their lighting as required independently. A sensor is provided to allow daylight harvesting when sufficient natural daylight is available. The toilet has a presence detector which automatically turns the light on when a person enters the room, and off again once vacated. The DALI network used to control this area is connected with other rooms in the hospital, to a Router. This allows a building wide control system to be formed.
