Open plan office
A typical office building will have an open plan layout, utilising luminaires with T5 fluorescent lamps. Often with daylight contributing to the overall illumination. Rather than light the whole space, which is wasteful, groups of lights can be individually controlled. In case of sufficient daylight the artificial light is expected to automatically dim down to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. This has to be smooth to avoid disturbance to the office workers.
Solution
Luminaire mounted sensors provide presence detection and daylight harvesting to each zone. By controlling the lighting as multiple zones, only the occupied areas are lit.
